What to Expect

Before We Arrive

Here’s what to expect from the moment you book with us.

  • You’ll receive a booking confirmation and reminder message
  • Our licensed technician will arrive within your scheduled time window
  • We’ll bring all required alarms, tools, and equipment with us
  • You don’t need to prepare anything, just provide access to each bedroom, hallway, and level of your home

We make it easy. No need to move furniture or prep anything, we’ll take care of the rest.

Installing with Care

During Installation

  • Our technician will assess your property layout and ensure correct placement
  • Alarms will be installed in:
    • Every bedroom
    • Hallways outside bedrooms
    • Each level of your home (if multi-storey)
  • Installation generally takes 1–2 hours, depending on property size
  • We’ll clean up after the job and walk you through how your new system works
  • You’ll receive a Smoke Alarm Compliance Certificate on completion

After Installation

Compliance Documentation

Once the installation is complete, you’ll receive:

  • A Certificate of Compliance detailing alarm locations, expiry dates, and standards met
  • Option to request a Photographic Compliance Certificate (ideal if you’re selling) available for $139
  • All alarms comply with AS3786:2014, the New Zealand-recognised standard for residential smoke alarms

Product Warranty & System Lifespan

All alarms we install come with:

  • 10-year manufacturer warranties (for lithium battery or hardwired units)
  • Certification valid at time of inspection
  • Ongoing support from the PCNZ team if anything goes wrong
